The Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture hosted the Provincial Move for Health programme in Maletswai, on12 June 2025
The programme aimed to promote healthy behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, as well as addressing health related issues through sport and physical activity. This included affording the youth in the province an opportunity to live a healthy and active lifestyle in sport which aids in steering them from crime and social ills.
‘Move for Health’ is an international event initiated in 2004 by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to promote physical activity and refers to moderate-to-vigorous physical activity of any kind that anyone can perform anywhere to improve health, such as recreational activities, walking, stretching and dancing.
The activities of the day included mass aerobics, indigenous games, football, netball, kiddies corner and tug-of-war.
