To have such high-profile teams, with a remarkable history and huge following competing in our province will have great impact on the Eastern Cape. The impact will have a ripple effect in sport development, tourism, sport activism and hospitality sector. To say we are excited to host this inaugural cup is an understatement,” said Ngongo.
The tournament saw football giants, Chippa United FC, Mamelodi Sundowns FC, Kaizer Chiefs FC and Lamontville Golden Arrows FC competing in the fixtures. Kaizer Chiefs secured an impressive win over Mamelodi Sundowns during the penalties.
